Summer 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting period in the smartphone world!
We expect to see anything from bold new foldable experiments to new flagship models and surprisingly powerful mid-range contenders. We won’t waste your time and will directly jump into the exciting new phones. Let’s go:
1. Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 Wide [July, 2026]
After the exciting Huawei Pura X and the leaks from the upcoming foldable iPhone, Samsung won’t stay behind and is expected to announce a new variation of its popular Galaxy Z Fold – this time in wider dimensions, making the inner display with a 3:4 ratio, instead of the almost square inner display(7:6) in the standard Galaxy Fold.
For users, the new model means a much bigger picture for watching movies or playing games. With a smaller 5.4-inch cover screen and a wider 7.6-inch inner display, the device feels less like a phone that unfolds and more like a compact tablet you can fold in half. Yet, you should keep in mind that reports suggest Samsung might drop the telephoto camera – signaling a stronger focus on media consumption rather than pure flagship versatility.
2. CMF Phone 3 Pro [May, 2026]
Nothing and its more affordable CMF brand are quickly becoming one of the most exciting players in the budget segment. Now the CMF’s upcoming Phone 3 Pro looks ready to take things to the next level in summer 2026. Expected in early May, this device is shaping up to be a serious upgrade, with leaks pointing to a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip and a shift to a premium metal frame – something that instantly elevates its feel beyond typical mid-range devices. Leaks also point to a larger battery and faster charging speeds. Now we just have to wait and see what Nothing is cooking, but if this turns out to be true, Phone 3 Pro could easily become one of the best-value smartphones of the year.
3. Sony Xperia 1 VIII [May, 2026]
Sony’s flagship lineup has been known for its consistency (maybe even too much consistency), and 2026 might finally be the year that changes. The Xperia 1 VIII is expected to introduce the biggest design shift in years, replacing the iconic vertical camera strip with a more modern square module. The leaked images already sparked mixed reactions among long-time Sony fans.
Under the hood, however, the upgrades look strong. The rumored triple 48MP camera system, similar to the one introduced in Apple iPhone 17 Pro, could bring Sony closer to the competition. At the same time, the company seems committed to its core identity, with the surprising return of features like the 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD slot, making it a rare flagship that still prioritizes flexibility.
4. Google Pixel 11 Pro [August, 2026]
Google’s Pixel lineup has always been known for great software and next-level AI features, and the Pixel 11 Pro is expected to continue that tradition. After a few generations of relatively safe upgrades, the 2026 Pro models, which will be announced in August, are expected to continue the tradition with a new G6 chipset and more software upgrades rather than hardware changes. Still, Google’s magic computing powers and Gemini integration might turn this phone into a futuristic device that helps you with all kinds of tasks.
5. Samsung Galaxy Flip 8 [July, 2026]
Samsung isn’t expected to reinvent the flip phone in 2026 – but it doesn’t really need to. The upcoming Galaxy Flip 8 is expected to come out in July and is expected to refine an already successful formula, with a slightly thinner and lighter design and a slightly improved cover display that builds on the Flip 7’s strengths. Under the hood, efficiency seems to be the main focus. With the expected Exynos 2600 chip (or a Snapdragon alternative), users can expect better power management with improved speeds.
6. Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold [August, 2026]
Google’s foldable ambitions continue with the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, and this time the focus is clearly on refinement. Early leaks suggest a thinner and more polished design, with reduced thickness and a cleaner, more integrated camera module that makes the device feel more premium. Powered by the new Tensor G6 chip and possibly improved modem efficiency, the device is expected to deliver better performance and battery life.
7. Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 [July, 2026]
Alongside the new Wide variant, the standard Galaxy Fold 8 is also expected to arrive in Summer 2026 with meaningful upgrades. While the overall design will likely stay recognizable, improvements in durability and display technology could make a noticeable difference in everyday use.
One of the most exciting rumored upgrades is the introduction of dual ultra-thin glass (UTG), which could significantly reduce the visible crease – one of the biggest trade-offs of foldable devices. Rumors also suggest a larger 5,000mAh battery, S Pen support, and the latest Snapdragon chipset.

We are looking forward to seeing what summer will bring us – will there be even more surprising releases? Well, we will see.
One thing is for sure – there are tons of cool technologies and smartphones coming out soon, so don’t forget to do your research before choosing your next phone.
