Google’s Pixel A-series has always been about delivering flagship-like features at a lower price – and the new, just announced, Google Pixel 10a continues that same formula!

Priced at $499(impressively, considering the skyrocketing RAM prices), it keeps the same core DNA as last year’s Google Pixel 9a, but adds smarter AI tools, better durability, and a brighter display.

We will tell you more about the new features, specs, and pricing. Here’s everything you need to know:

1. What’s New in Google Pixel 10A

– Brighter & Tougher Display

Pixel 10A comes with the same 6.3-inch Actua OLED (120Hz), but now it’s 11% brighter and more scratch-resistant thanks to the new Corning Gorilla Glass 7i (from Gorilla Glass 3).

– Satellite SOS (Big Upgrade)

For the first time in the A-series, Pixel 10a adds Satellite SOS, allowing you to contact emergency services even without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. This is the most meaningful hardware upgrade over the 9a – and something the older model simply can’t support.

– New AI Camera Features

Hardware remains the same (48MP main + 13MP ultrawide), but software gets some tweaks:
Auto Best Take – Combines multiple frames to fix blinking faces in group photos
Camera Coach – AI-powered photography tips using Gemini models
Macro Focus – Improved close-up photography
AI photo editing via voice or text in Google Photos

The 10a keeps Google’s “best camera under $500” claim alive – now with even more AI magic.

– Faster Wireless Charging

While the battery size stays the same (5,100 mAh), wireless charging now reaches 10W from 7.5W in last year’s model. Extreme Battery Saver can now give you 20 more hours, bringing the total to 120.

– Google Tensor G4 + Android 16

The new model runs on the same Google Tensor G4 chipset, but launches with Android 16 out of the box. Honestly, performance feels nearly identical to the 9a while this is refinement, not reinvention.

You get the same 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage, and 7 years of OS and security updates.

– Sustainable Design & New Colors

The new Pixel 10A comes in new colors – Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian, and is made of 100% recycled aluminum frame and 81% recycled plastic back.

Release & Price

The Google Pixel 10a starts at $499, the same price as the Google Pixel 9A. Pre-orders start right now on Google’s website and will launch on March 5.

If you already own a Pixel 9a, the upgrade may feel incremental, and honestly, it’s better to skip this one, as performance and camera hardware are nearly identical.

But if you’re choosing between the two today, the Google Pixel 10a is clearly the better buy. You get a brighter and tougher display, faster wireless charging, longer emergency battery life, upgraded AI camera tools – and the useful Satellite SOS… all for the same $499 price.

For first-time buyers or anyone upgrading from an older Pixel, this is easily Google’s most complete A-series phone yet. It gives you access to the latest AI features developed by the company without paying a premium.
