Huawei just announced its second trifold smartphone with a few upgrades over the first one.

Since it released its first trifold – Huawei Mate XT last year, there’ve been a race between other smartphone brands to catch up and release trifold alternatives, yet Huawei managed to release 2nd version one year later, before anybody else even released an alternative.

The new trifold smartphone is called Huawei Mate XTs, and it comes with the following improvements:

  • Mate XTs comes with an updated 40MP ultrawide camera
  • It will be powered by the new chipset – Kirin 9020
  • It now supports a stylus
  • Supports Wi-Fi 7
  • Comes with the latest HarmonyOS 5.1
  • It is now available in more colors – Red, Black, Purple, White

While there are quite a few improvements, the new Mate XTs doesn’t change the dimensions, design, or display(LTPO OLED with 90Hz). It comes with the same battery(5600 mAh) and the same cameras(excluding the ultrawide one).

Huawei claims the new chipset is 36% faster than the Kirin 9010 used in the Mate XT. Which is quite important – especially if you use this beast for multitasking unfolded at 10.2 inches.

The new trifold smartphone will be available in China with deliveries starting on September 12. Similar to the previous version, we expect it to launch in more countries later. Here are the announced prices for China:

  • 16GB RAM / 256GB Storage – CNY 17,999 | $2,520
  • 16GB RAM / 512GB Storage – CNY 19,999 | $2,800
  • 16GB RAM / 1TB Storage – CNY 21,999 | $3,080

The innovative smartphone might be seen at IFA 2025, where we can see quite exciting new gadgets.
