So, the new base iPhone 17 is slightly heavier than iPhone 16 and slightly bigger – offering a 6.3-inch display(improved from 6.1inches).
The display reaches 3,000 nits of brightness compared to 2,000 nits in the previous model(huge benefit when used outdoors). Some highly anticipated features also come to the base model for the first time – Always-On display, and adaptive refresh rate(up to 120Hz).
There is also an improved display durability and an anti-reflective cover. The new model is available in 256GB and 512GB storage, so there is no longer a 128GB version.
Many improvements are related to the camera system – there is finally a front camera improvement, with a new 18MP sensor. The rear camera system also gets a big update with a 48MP ultrawide sensor.
Another area of interest – the battery, which it’s now bigger, optimized, and allows faster charging up to 40W.
