The world of foldable smartphones is getting more exciting each year – with bigger screens, smarter software, better battery, and thinner designs. Now, in 2025 we can actually say that foldable phones are a good alternative to standard smartphones.
Let’s take a look at some of the most anticipated foldable phones that could shake up the market even more!
Mid february we saw the brand new Oppo Find N5, which sets the standard for the year. With 5600mAh battery + fast charging, stunning displays, Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, superb camera, Titanium Alloy Flexion Hinge, and more.
But the most exciting part of this device is… being just 8.93mm thin (0.351in), to understand this size better, it is way thinner than Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is 12.1mm when folded. Packng so much technology and big battery in such a small body is really impressive.
1. Huawei Mate XT 2
Huawei made history with the first-ever trifold smartphone, and it was a massive hit with tons of preorders—despite its hefty price tag – $3,660. So, it’s no surprise that Huawei is already working on the Mate XT 2 to improve on its predecessor. Expect better software, upgraded hardware, and fixes for any issues from the first-gen model.
We will most likely see the device in Q4 2025.
2. New Rollable Galaxy
Shortly after the trifold phone was announced, rumors started swirling that Samsung could launch its first rollable phone in 2025. Given Samsung’s dominance in the foldable market, this makes total sense!
Over the past few years, Samsung has teased countless foldable and rollable concepts, and a rollable smartphone could completely change the game helping Samsung stay ahead of competition.
Anyway, there were a lot of rumors about Samsung’s rollable phone releasing in 2024…. so take this with a grain of salt.
3. Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold
Google’s next-gen foldable is expected to land in September 2025 alongside the Pixel 10 lineup. And you can bet it’ll come packed with more AI-powered features, a better camera, and improved performance.
There’s also talk that Pixel could introduce a Flip-style phone, but for now, that’s just speculation for now.
4. Galaxy Flip 7 & Galaxy Fold 7
Samsung’s most popular foldable phones will be back with a 7-gen around July 2025. Both devices are expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and there’s buzz about the Galaxy Z Flip getting a 3rd camera for the first time!
As for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, rumors suggest two versions—but will one be a more affordable model, or an ultra-premium edition? We’ll have to wait and see!
5. Tecno Phantom Ultimate 2
Tecno is another brand pushing foldable innovation, and its Phantom Ultimate 2 concept has grabbed attention. If released, it would be the first trifold phone with Touch and Display Driver Integration, meaning you could use it like a laptop or even let two people type on different sides of the screen.
Some rumors suggest Summer 2025 release... so stay tuned!
6. ZTE Nubia Flip 2
Looking for an affordable flip phone? The Nubia Flip 2 was announced in January, and it is expected to hit the markets in March. It is priced at $499, which is unbelievable for a flip phone, but keep in mind it comes with budget specs.

7. Samsung Trifold Galaxy
Samsung isn’t about to let Huawei dominate the trifold market. The company is rumored to be developing its own trifold device, which would unfold into a huge tablet-sized screen. If done right, this could be a major success worldwide.
On the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 they show some product release plans, and the trifold device was there, so we really hope to see it soon.
8. Oppo Trifold Phone
Oppo has already teased a trifold concept, but details are still under wraps. However, with more brands jumping into the trifold race, we wouldn’t be surprised if Oppo’s design becomes a reality in 2025. And as we see they manage to make really thin, yet powerful devices like the foldable Find N5.
9. Motorola Razr 60
The Razr 50 is already one of the best flip phones out there, and the Razr 60 is expected to take things to the next level! Some leaks suggest it could feature a motorized hinge, letting it close automatically. We are not sure about the purpose of this feature, but maybe it will be more gentle, or it could possibly allow camera to follow your face when making a video call.
10. Other Foldable Smartphones
There are plenty more foldable devices expected in 2025, including:
- Xiaomi Mix Fold 5
- Honor Magic V4
- And last but not least – we may see a budget Samsung FE versions of Galaxy Fold 7 and Galaxy Flip 7.
As for a foldable iPhone? That’s likely not coming until 2026 or even 2027.
Some rumors also suggest LG will return to smartphone world with a foldable, but its just a speculation for now.
One thing is for sure – 2025 will give us plenty of new foldable smartphones, and hopefuly, there will be a cool surprises.
