Rollable phones will most likely be the next big thing in the smartphone industry! With companies racing to be the first to launch a rollable display phone in 2025/2026, we’re diving into the most exciting concepts that could soon become reality. Let’s check them out!
The futuristic rollable display technology will open a wide range of possibilities, and the first companies who release such rollable display phones will have a big advantage in the long term, like the Samsung Galaxy Flip and Fold became the most recognizable foldables.
1. Samsung Rollable Galaxy Phone

Rumors are swirling that Samsung is gearing up to drop its first rollable phone in 2025. Over the years, Samsung has showcased multiple rollable display designs, each with unique functionalities.
Unfortunately, some rumors suggest Samsung is experiencing some issues with the technology, and the smartphone might be pushed back to 2026.
Will it roll horizontally or vertically? We can’t wait to find out!
2. OPPO X 2021

OPPO first unveiled its rollable phone concept in 2021, and we’re still eagerly waiting for it to hit the market. This device expands horizontally, transforming into a tablet-sized screen—perfect for watching movies, reading, writing, or gaming – and then, you just roll it in and put it in your pocket.
If OPPO finally manages to complete and launch this product, this could be a game-changer!
3. Tecno Ultimate Rollable Phone

Tecno already showcased a working prototype of a horizontal rollable phone with a 6.55-inch OLED display that turns into 7.11-inch with a press of a button. The company already released a few foldable phones, and it looks like they want to become a big factor in the upcoming rollable phones market. The time will see if they manage to release this phone to the public.
4. Motorola Rollable & Bendable Phones

Motorola has been teasing some wild rollable phone concepts, including a vertical rollable screen and even a futuristic device that bends into a smartwatch(see below)!

While that super sci-fi model may still be years away, it’s clear that Motorola is heavily investing in futuristic-rollable display development. Fingers crossed we see something hit the shelves in 2025 or 2026!
5. LG Rollable Smartphone

LG exited the smartphone market a few years ago, but not before showing off a rollable phone concept in 2021. Now, rumors are flying that LG might make a comeback with foldable and rollable smartphones. Given LG’s reputation for bold, experimental designs, we’d love to see them re-enter the game and heat up the competition!
6. TCL Rollable Phone Concept

TCL also dipped into the rollable phone arena with a concept device featuring a motorized expanding display. This design allows it to go from a regular-sized phone to a larger, foldable-like display with ease. Unfortunately, there haven’t been many updates about TCL’s plans, but we’re hoping for a launch by the end of 2025!
With all these exciting concepts floating around, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that 2025 will be the year of the first wave of rollable smartphones! Stay tuned for updates, and follow us on social media for any news!
